90 mins: The referee blows the final whistle and Denmark claim a valuable win. It will come as a surprise to many that they top Group A with Senegal.
FT: Uruguay 1-2 Denmark

90 mins: Uruguay pile on the pressure but without Alvaro Recoba they lack a creative spark and only three minutes of stoppage time remain.

88 mins: Fellow group members France would have been hoping for a draw in this game to keep them in touch after their opening defeat to Senegal. But Denmark have looked the better side at the Munsu Stadium and are well worth their advantage.

83 mins: Denmark are finishing the second half the better side - as they did the first. Jon Dahl Tomasson strikes again with a towering header from a cross by Martin Jorgensen.
Uruguay 1-2 Denmark

80 mins: A surpising substitution from Uruguay, who withdraw Alvaro Recoba and replace him with Mario Regueiro.

77 mins: Martin Jorgensen has turned up the heat on Uruguay since his arrival. His dazzling run almost puts him through on goal, but the South Americans stand firm.

74 mins: Sustained Denmark pressure amounts to nothing and Uruguay, who are struggling to find the fluent football they are capable of, reclaim possession.

70 mins: A second substitution for Denmark. Jesper Gronkjaer can be proud of his contribution but he makes way for Martin Jorgensen, who would have started but for slight injury concerns.

68 mins: Alvaro Recoba is behind much of Uruguay's good work and his telling crosses force two last-gasp defensive headers from Denmark.

64 mins: Alvaro Recoba cracks in another long-range effort but Thomas Sorensen is again up to the challenge.

60 mins: Denmark are causing trouble down their left flank and Ebbe Sand almost benefits from good work by Thomas Gravesen. His shot is blocked.

57 mins: Denmark make the first substitution. Niclas Jensen comes on for Jan Heintze, the oldest outfielder in this year's World Cup.

53 mins: Stung by the early goal, the Danes try to regroup but give possession away and allow the confident Uruguay team to counter.

47 mins: The Danish lead is eclipsed by a wonderful volley from Dario Rodriguez. The Uruguayan connects sweetly with an Alvaro Recoba corner to set a tough target in the race for goal of the tournament.
Uruguay 1-1 Denmark

46 mins: The Danish fans are showing their colours and will be the happier as their team kick off the second half.
Uruguay 0-1 Denmark

45 mins: The referee blows the whistle for half-time.
Uruguay 0-1 Denmark

45 mins: Jon Dahl Tomasson breaks the deadlock striking home a superb cross from Jesper Gronkjaer. The warning signs have been there for the South Americans and Denmark fully deserve their lead.
Uruguay 0-1 Denmark

41 mins: The Europeans create two more half chances and have had their fair share of possession in the first half. A darting run from Jon Dahl Tomasson helps to win a Denmark corner from which Martin Laursen's goal-bound header is helped behind.

39 mins: Jesper Gronkjaer looks threatening for Denmark but is not seeing enough of the ball. Alvaro Recoba and Dario Silva link up on the break again for Uruguay, but the Danish defence remains resolute.

34 mins: The first yellow card of the game goes to Dane Jan Heintze for a wreckless challenge on Dario Silva.

30 mins: Alvaro Recoba uses good pace to hit Denmark on the break but an offside flag halts Uruguay's progress.

27 mins: A spell of good pressure from Denmark fails to create a clear-cut chance as Uruguay defend well.

23 mins: Alvaro Recoba tests Thomas Sorensen with another long-range strike. He looks to be finding his range and that may bode ill for Denmark.

20 mins: The game has gone off the boil a little. Danish playmaker Thomas Gravesen squanders a free-kick as his shot runs tamely through to the keeper.

16 mins: Most seats are filled in the Munsu Stadium and the crowd is getting behind both teams after what has been an exciting 15 minutes. Alvaro Recoba's free-kick finds the head of Gustavo Varela but Thomas Sorensen gathers.

12 mins: Denmark almost take the lead. Thomas Helvig sweeps a good ball in from the right flank and Ebbe Sand's stooping header clips the top of the crossbar.

8 mins: Alvaro Recoba has his first opportunity from a 30-yard free-kick. His rasping left-foot shot fizzes just wide.

7 mins: Dennis Rommedahl creates Demark's first chance, clipping a well-struck shot wide from 25 yards.

4 mins Uruguay win the first corner kick of the game. Sebastian Abreu heads Alvaro Recoba's cross wide of Thomas Sorensen's post.

2 mins: A bright opening for Uruguay as Sebastian Abreu almost manages to release strike partner Dario Silva. The Danish defence scramble the ball out of their box.

1000 BST: Uruguay get the match under way at the Munsu Stadium.

The Denmark side has a strong English Premiership influence with Chelsea's Jesper Gronkjaer and Everton's Thomas Gravesen lining up in midfield.

Uruguay rely heavily on inspirational playmaker Alvaro Recoba, who plays behind a front two of Sebastian Abreu and Dario Silva.

Uruguay: Fabian Carini, Gustavo Mendez, Gonzalo Sorondo, Paolo Montero, Dario Rodriguez, Gustavo Varela, Pablo Garcia, Gianni Guigou, Alvaro Recoba, Sebastian Abreu, Dario Silva.
