All the action as Japan beat Tunisia in their final Group H game in Osaka.

90 mins (+1): The stadium erupts in celebration as referee Gilles Veissiere blows the final whistle to signal that Japan will qualify for the second stage for the first time - and as group winners.

86 mins: Shinji Ono fires just wide as the reality of Japan's imminent qualification for the second phase begins to hit home among their jubilant fans.

85 mins: Japan replace goalscorer Hidetoshi Nakata with Mitsuo Ogasawara. Takayuki Suzuki curls a left-foot shot just wide.

82 mins: Tunisia carve out their best chance of the game as substitute Ali Zitouni has a shot deflected on to the bar and Slim Ben Achour fires the rebound over the bar.

81 mins: Tunisia's Khaled Badra is booked for a bad tackle on Takayuki Suzuki. Several Japanese players scamper to the touchline for a drink of water.

79 mins: Tunisia almost pull one back as a free-kick from the right causes panic in the Japanese area but Ali Zitouni sends an overhead kick wide.

75 mins: The Japanese fans go into raptures as substitute Daisuke Ichikara crosses from the right and star man Hidetoshi Nakata heads home through keeper Ali Boumnijel's legs. Tunisia 0-2 Japan.

72 mins: Imed Mhadhebi charges forward but is blocked by a crunching tackle on the edge of the area.

68 mins: Tunisia push forward, with Ziad Jaziri having a shot blocked and Tsuneyasu Miyamoto stretching to clear Imed Mhadhebi's cross.

65 mins: Japan almost grab a second goal when Koji Nakata heads a deep free-kick into the danger zone but Ali Boumnijel produces a great save to claw away Shinji Ono's header.

64 mins: Koji Nakata sends in a teasing cross from the left and the diving Riadh Bouazizi heads the ball out for a corner with Takayuki Suzuki waiting to pounce.

61 mins: The Tunisia defence opens up in front of Hiroaki Morishima but he sends a tame shot wide. Tunisia replace Jose Clayton with Imed Mhadhebi.

60 mins: An impressive Tunisian passing move ends with a cross from Ziad Jaziri which is easily gathered by keeper Seigo Narazaki.

56 mins: Tunisia realise they have to force the pace but Japan's neat passing is starving them of possession.

53 mins: Japan are brimming with confidence and goalscorer Hiroaki Morishima comes within inches of doubling the lead when he heads Takayuki Suzuki's cross on to the far post.

48 mins: The stadium erupts as substitute Hiroaki Morishima makes an immediate impact, picking up a loose ball in the area and curling a shot into the far corner. Tunisia 0-1 Japan.

0833 BST: The second half kicks off after a delay as both sides send on substitutes. Japan's Junichi Inamoto and Atsushi Yanagisawa are replaced by Daisuke Ichikara and Hiroaki Morishima. Zoubeir Baya replaces Mourad Melki for Tunisia.

45 mins (+2): Japan go into the break with nothing to show for their domination. Tunisia are showing signs of mounting a threat but will need to do better to grab the two-goal victory they need to qualify. Tunisia 0-0 Japan.

45 mins: Japan defender Kazuyuki Toda is furious with Hatem Trabelsi for taking a tumble in the area but referee Gilles Veissiere waves play on.

43 mins: Japan's passing begins to get sloppy and Tunisia take advantage by snatching a corner. Slim Ben Achour swings it in and Khaled Badra sends a glancing header wide of the far post.

39 mins: Tunisia respond to the Japanese pressure with a rare attack of their own, Ziad Jaziri firing well wide of the right-hand post.

37 mins: Tunisia keeper Ali Boumnijel is called into action again as he punches out Shinji Ono's corner from beneath his crossbar and Hidetoshi Nakata blasts over.

34 mins: Atsushi Yanagisawa carves out Japan's best chance so far but Ali Boumnijel dives full-length to his left to keep out his low shot.

30 mins: Junichi Inamoto finds space on the left but his low cross is claimed by keeper Ali Boumnijel.

28 mins: Hidetoshi Nakata whips in a dangerous corner but Khaled Badra gets up above Junichi Inamoto to head clear.

25 mins: A rare foray into the Japanese penalty area produces a corner for Tunisia but keeper Seigo Narazaki charges out to claim the ball - to the delight of the crowd.

24 mins: Japan win their first corner when Radhi Jaidi heads Hidetoshi Nakata's cross behind but the ball is hit too long and the initiative is lost.

21 mins: Tunisia's Riadh Bouazizi receives the first yellow card of the game for clipping Atsushi Yanagisawa's heels in the centre circle.

19 mins: Japan are enjoying the majority of possession without seriously threatening the Tunisia defence.

16 mins: Tunisia string some neat passes together for the first time but the final ball is not good enough to threaten the Japanese defence.

14 mins: The co-hosts continue to press but another free-kick from the right of the Tunisia area is cleared to safety.

13 mins: Japan win a free-kick ten yards outside the Tunisia area when Takayuki Suzuki is felled by a clumsy challenge from Jose Clayton. The ball is clipped into the area but Tunisia clear their lines.

11 mins: The pace of the game increases and the Japanese crowd are not happy when the French referee waves play on as Junichi Inamoto appears to be brought down.

8 mins: Takayuki Suzuki mounts Japan's first serious attack but blazes the ball over the bar from just outside the area.

5 mins: Japan win a free-kick when Shinji Ono is brought down but there is an infringement as the ball is swung into the Tunisia penalty area.

3 mins: Japan make a strong start and hardly allow the Tunisians a touch as they press forward.

0730 BST: The match kicks off to a huge roar from the Japanese fans, who immediately begin urging their team on, knowing that a point will be enough to send them through to the second stage.
