All the action from the thrilling draw between South Korea and the USA in Daegu.

0922 BST: A thrilling game finishes all square. USA took the lead against the run of play in the first half before substitute Ahn Jung-Hwan equalised late in the game to send the crowd wild.
Full-time: South Korea 1-1 USA

90 mins: South Korea waste an excellent opportunity to take all three points and secure their progress to the second round. Choi Yong Soo is unmarked and has a clear sight of goal when he strikes his first-time shot over the crossbar from nine yards out.

89 mins: South Korea substitute Choi Yong Soo makes an electric burst down the left wing but his cross is easily gathered by Brad Friedel.

82 mins: Chicago Fire striker Josh Wolff comes on for USA goalscorer Clint Mathis.

78 mins: Substitute Ann Jung Hwan gets in front of USA defender Jeff Agoos to head a long free-kick into the net from seven yards out. The partisan crowd goes wild.
South Korea 1-1 USA

75 mins: USA coach Bruce Arena brings on Fulham midfielder Eddie Lewis for DaMarcus Beasley.

73 mins: Eddie Pope steals the ball from Seol Ki-hyeon inside the area and thumps it into touch. The USA are coming under immense pressure from the World Cup co-hosts.

70 mins: Substitute Choi Yong Soo almost scores with his first touch. He controls a right-wing cross and shoots left-footed from an acute angle but Brad Friedel, who has had a colossal game in the American goal, saves at his near post.

66 mins: DaMarcus Beasley sends in an excellent cross from the left and defender Kim Tae-young gets the faintest of touches to deny Brian McBride. USA are defending in depth and attacking on the counter.

65 mins: Claudio Reyna comes back onto the pitch after receiving treatment.

64 mins: USA captain Claudio Reyna, returning after an injury, is stretchered off after a challenge from behind.

58 mins: Eddie Pope heads clear a South Korea free-kick. South Korea are dominating possession as they press for an equaliser but the USA are defending astutely.

53 mins: Seol Ki-hyeon improvises a header from the edge of the area but Brad Friedel is able to save with ease.

47 mins: The outstanding Brad Friedel pulls off a fabulous one-handed save from Seol Ki-hyeon.

0834 BST: The second-half kicks off. The USA will go through to the second round if they can hold on to their lead.


0819 BST: The USA go in 1-0 up at half-time thanks to an opportunistic strike from Clint Mathis. But they also have keeper Brad Friedel to thank for their lead after his brilliant penalty save from Lee Eul-yong.

40 mins: Brad Friedel becomes the first goalkeeper to save a penalty at the World Cup since 1990. The Blackburn keeper dives to his right to brilliantly deny Lee Eul-yong. Kim Nam-il misses the follow-up

39 mins: South Korea are awarded a penalty after Hwang Sun-hong goes down under a challenge from Jeff Agoos inside the area. Agoos is booked.

38 mins: DaMarcus Beesley goes down after a push from a South Korea defender inside the area but the referee waves play on.

35 mins: Jeff Agoos heads a cross away from the onrushing Hwang Sun-hong to give South Korea a corner.

30 mins: Frankie Hejduk receives the first yellow card of the game - for bringing down Park Ji-sung.

29 mins: Marcus Beesley gets in front of the South Korea defence and pokes a shot at goal, but Lee Woon-jae gets down well to save. The USA are threatening to extend their lead.

24 mins: The USA take the lead against the run of play. Clint Mathis, returning to action after injury, controls a left-wing cross from John O'Brien before firing past Lee Woon-jae from nine yards.
South Korea 0-1 USA

22 mins: Hwang Sun-hong sustains a nasty cut above his eye after a clash of heads with USA defender Frankie Hejduk.

21 mins: The USA enjoy a rare incursion into the South Korea area. Landon Donovan squares from the right and Brian McBride is only inches away from connecting on the edge of the six-yard box.

19 mins: Seol Ki-hyeon shoots left-footed from an acute angle and Brad Friedel pulls off an excellent save with his leg. The USA are failing to keep possession and are struggling to get out of their own half.

16 mins: Song Chong-gug miscues a 25-yard shot and it goes disappointingly wide of the post.

14 mins: Park Ji-sung shoots from the edge of the area but his effort is weak and Brad Friedel saves easily. South Korea are dominating the early stages and creating all the chances.

10 mins: USA central defender Jeff Agoos slides to dispossess lively Seol Ki-hyeon inside the area.

9 mins:Kim Nam-il tries to lob Brad Friedel from 35 yards out, but the USA keeper is alert and comfortably gathers on his line.

6 mins: Hwang Sun-hong chips the ball to Seol Ki-hyeon, who lashes a right-footed volley over the crossbar from nine yards out. South Korea are playing some neat, attractive football at the start of the game.

0731 BST: The game between the unlikely group leaders kicks off. The partisan home crowd creates an electric atmosphere.
