Turkey coach Senol Gunes has warned his team are ready to take revenge on Brazil by denying them a place in the World Cup final.

Brazil won an ill-tempered group match 2-1 in which Turkey had two players sent off.

But Turkey's golden goal win over Senegal now sets the scene for them to exact the ultimate revenge.

After reaching the semi-finals for the first time in their history, Gunes is confident Turkey can turn the tables and kick Brazil out.

Gunes said: "We should have beaten them in the first match but we could not.

"We will do it now. We have to look to the future.

An ebullient Gunes added: "We have new plans for the future. We want to play in the final."

"We had a big target. We have shown the world what great football means.

" We have a lot of support from our nation. We played very well and we deserved to get to the next stage.

"We are preparing ourselves for the final."

The coach's thought were echoed by goalscoring hero Ilhan Mansiz.

He said: "We were unlucky to lose 2-1 to Brazil in the group stages

"Now we have to concentrate on a rematch and I think it will be a great match."

As he looked forward to Wednesday's semi-final in Saitama, Ilhan claimed Turkey have earned the right to a place at world football's top table.

"After we qualified we have seen that no one is better than us.

"We have earned our place in the semi-final.

"We wanted to win this game and we did. As a team we fought hard."

Midfielder Umit Davala, who set up the winner, said Turkey had not become frustrated by their failure to convert a number of chances in normal time.

"We couldn't finish in the first 90 minutes but we never gave up.

"The Brazil match will be different, we know each other now.

"They are going to have to put up a fight, like us, but we're not going to make the same mistakes."
