The Poles have been disappointing so far, slumping to a 2-0 defeat against South Korea and a 4-0 thumping by Portugal, and are definitely out of the tournament.
But Arena believes they will now be more difficult to play
against since they are under no pressure to get a result.
"I expect the game against Poland to be a very different
game. The pressure's off them now," said Arena.
"We need to play this game without any outside distractions. The objective is to get at least one point to qualify."
The US got off to a great start with a shock 3-2 win over
Portugal in their opening game and followed that with a 1-1 draw against South Korea to put themselves in a good position to qualify.
South Korea top group D but only on goal difference from the US with both teams on four points ahead of Portugal with three and Poland with none.
