All the action as Mexico took on Ecuador in Group G in Miyagi.

86 mins: Edison Mendez goes agonisingly close to an equaliser for Ecuador.

84 mins: Mexico look to have settled for the 2-1 win.

82 mins: Edison Mendez gets a shot in for Ecuador but Perez is too quick.

80 mins: Carlos Tenorio proves a handful for the Mexico defence but goalkeeper Oscar Perez gets his leg in the way of his shot and it goes out for a corner.

64 mins: Carlos Tenario races down the left, getting away from the Mexico defence but he can't get the ball back to Agustin Delgado.

63 mins: Mexico's Braulio Luna crosses from the left but Johan Rodriguez is beaten to the ball by the Ecuador defence.

60 mins: Ecuador substitute Carlos Tenorio is booked.

57 mins: Gerardo Torrado plays a neat one-two with Borgetti and Torrado unleashes a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the area to give Mexico the lead.

51 mins:The play is switched to Ramon Morales on the left and he crosses but the ball is too close to the Ecuador keeper.

48 mins: Jesus Arellano is fouled by Raul Guerron on the edge of the 18 yard box. Guerron is booked. Braulio Luna curls the resulting free-kick well wide.

0833 BST: Ecuador kick off the second half.

45 mins: Agustin Delgado almost claims a second when he is played in but defender Salvador Carmona gets to the ball first to clear it.

37 mins: Cuauhtemoc Blanco plays a long free-kick into the area which the Ecuador keeper safely holds.

36 mins: Braulio Luna tries to link up with Ramon Morales but he plays Morales too far wide and the ball goes out for a throw-in.

34 mins: Ecuador make a substitution with Edwin Tonorio replaced by Marlon Ayovi.

33 mins: Johan Rodriguez's neat through ball almost finds a way through the Ecuador defence.

28 mins: Ramon Morales sends a well-placed cross into the area Jared Borgetti connects with it, getting ahead of Ecuador defender Augusto Porozo to fire Mexico level.

25 mins: Ecuador keeper Jose Cevallos is booked for time-wasting.

22 mins: Cuauhtemoc Blanco plays a through ball towards Jared Borgetti but he can't reach it and it goes out for a Ecuador goal-kick.

18 mins: A left-footed free-kick is curled in by Ramon Morales but Ecuador keeper Jose Cevallos is able to come off his line and save it.

17 mins:Johan Rodriguez is lucky to escape punishment after he appears to elbow Raul Guerron.

14 mins: Ivan Kaviedes is booked for a silly foul on Salvador Carmona.

12 mins: Both sets of players are having to cope with temperatures of 25C in Miyagi.

9 mins: Johan Rodriguez falls down in the penalty area after the challenge of Ecuador's Edwin Tenorio but his half-hearted appeals for a penalty are turned down.

6 mins: Jesus Arellano, back into the team after suspension, goes close to an equaliser for Mexico but his shot drifts wide.

5 mins: Ulises de la Cruz sends in a cross from the right. Agustin Delgado rises highest to head the ball past Mexico keeper Oscar Perez who makes a vain attempt to keep the ball out of the net.

2 mins: Johan Rodriguez earns a free-kick which Cuauhtemov Blanco curls into the area but nobody can connect with it.

0731 BST: Mexico kick-off seeking their second win of the tournament.
