All the action as Japan take on Russia in their Group H game in Yokohama.

90 mins (+2) The Tunisian referee blows his whistle and the large Japanese contingent can celebrate their first ever World Cup finals victory. Japan are now top of Group H with four points from their two games.

90 mins (+1) The Japanese supporters are given some late anxious moments as Russia bid for an equaliser.

88 mins: Japan earn a free kick after a foul by Senchov. The ball is pumped into the area and although there are appeals for a penalty after a foul on Atsushi Yanagisawa, the Russians clear.

83 mins: Dmitry Sychev causes a brief moment of worry for the Japanese defence with a fierce shot but keeper Marazaki is equal to the task.

81 mins: Russia try to get forward but their finishing is less than impressive.

78 mins: Japan are starting to give the ball away too much and are being forced onto the back foot.

76 mins: Dmitri Khokhlov gets on the end of a pass by Valery Karpin but keeper Narazaki saves.

74 mins: Cheered on by their supporters, the Japanese put in some dogged defending to deny the Russians.

70 mins: Hidetoshi Nakata finds himself in plenty of space outside the area and unleashes a powerful drive which rattles against the crossbar.

67 mins: Syschev spots Japanese keeper Seigo Narazaki off his line and tries an attempted chip but Narazaki recovers well.

65 mins: Atsushi Yanagisawa runs at the Russian defence but eventually Takayuki Suzuki is penalised for offside.

62 mins: Japan are determined to hold onto their lead with some good movement and their players are also working very hard for each other.

59 mins: Junichi Inamoto causes problemns for Yuri Nikiforov who brings him down for a free kick at the edge of the area. Nikiforov is booked while Hidetoshi Nakata fires the free-kick over the bar.

58 mins: Vladimir Beschastnykh has a great chance only seconds after he comes on when he takes the ball around the goalkeeper but somehow he shoots into the side netting.

57 mins: Vladimir Beschastnykh comes on for Alexei Smertin.

51 mins: Koji Nakata sends a cross into the Russian area and Junichi Inamoto sends the Japanese crowd wide, latching onto a lay-off from Atsushi Yanagisawa to fire home his second goal in two games.
Japan 1-0 Russia.

47 mins: Hidetoshi Nakata runs at the Russian defence but can't do anything with his effort.

1332 BST: Japan kick off the second half. Russia make a change at half-time with Dmitry Sychev replacing Ruslan Pimenov.

45 mins (+1) Both sides put in plenty of effort over the first 45 minutes, especially the Japanese, but they are still trying to make the breakthrough.

43 mins: A through ball by Hidetoshi Nakata fails to find a teammate.

41 mins: Koji Nakata is booked after a foul on Valery Karpin.

39 mins: Solomato does well to race up the right and into the penalty area but his cross is cut out by Kazuyki Toda ahead of Igor Semshov. But the referee fails to notice that Toda hauls down Semshov just before the ball is played to him.

37 mins: Andrei Sotomatin is booked for a late challenge on Stsushi Yanagisawa but from the resulting free-kick the Japanese are penalised for pushing.

35 mins Shinji Ono wastes a free-kick just outside the area going well over the bar..

31 mins:Pimenov beats the offside trap but his shot, afte a through ball by Titov, is blocked by the Japanese keeper Seigo Narazaki.

28 mins: Koji Nakata's cross was pushed out by the Russian keeper, but only as far as Hidetoshi Nakata. But he shot over the bar when he should have done better.

26 mins: The Russians are caught offside as they try to break forward.

23 mins: After some patient play, the ball drops to Hidetoshi Nakata on the edge of the area but the bounce is not the best and his shot goes over the bar.

19 mins: Semshov does well to create a half-chance but he can't find a team-mate with his cross.

16 mins: Tsuneyasu Miyamoto, wearing a mask to protect his broken nose, is booked.

15 mins: Marat Ismailov is given too much space by the Japanese defence and gets a shot in which is just wide of the target.

12 mins: Ruslan Pimenov is booked for a foul on Naoki Matsuda.

11 mins: Alexei Smertin shoots well wide and over the bar.

10 mins: Junichi Inamoto plays a ball into the the area but Igor Semshov does well to deny Tomokazu Myojin.

8 mins: All the indictions after the opening minutes is that this is going to be an open game.

6 mins: A foul by Alexei Smertin on Hidetoshi Nakata results in a free-kick which Junichi Inamoto just fails to connect with.

3 mins: Junichi Inamoto tries a shot from outside the area which thrills the crowd but goes wide of the goal.

1230 BST: The Russians kick-off amid great excitement from the Japanese crowd rooting for their home nation.

Japan: Seigo Narazaki, Naoki Matsuda, Junichi Inamoto, Hidetoshi Nakata, Takayuki Suzuki, Atsushi Yanagisawa, Koji Nakata, Tsuneyasu Miyamoto, Shinji Ono, Tomokazu Myojin, Kazuyuki Toda.
