Gomez happy to reveal all
Agustin Delgado
Delgado is expected to lead the Ecuador attack
Ecuador coach Hernan Dario Gomez has gone public with his starting lineup and his tactical gameplan ahead of the opener against Italy.

"We will play as always, with a 4-5-1 formation and (Agustin) Delgado at the sharp end, very organised and with a zonal defence," Gomez told reporters in Tottori.

Delgado is following a special training programme in order to get into shape ahead of the match with Italy in Sapporo on 3 June.

The striker suffered a serious knee injury earlier in the year and Gomez said Ivan Kaviedes was standing by to replace him.

"Everyone needs everyone," Gomez said, adding that he is expecting an iimpressive team performance when the World Cup gets underway.

Ecuador probable team: Jose Cevallos; Ulises de la Cruz, Ivan Hurtado, Augusto Poroso and Raul Guerron; Edwin Tenorio, Alfonso Obregon, Cleber Chala, Edison Mendez and Alex Aguinaga; Agustin Delgado.
