Germany and Brazil may have won the World Cup seven times between them, but they have never come up against each other.

The key for Germany will be stopping Brazil's fearsome strikeforce of Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho.

Brazil have scored 16 goals in six games so far - and the three Rs have contributed 13 of them.

If anyone can keep them out it is goalkeeper Oliver Kahn and his defence, who have conceded just one goal on the way to the final.

Without doubt the best goalkeeper in the tournament, having conceded just one goal in six games. A formidable barrier for Brazil's three Rs. 9

Christoph Metzelder

The young Borussia Dortmund left-back has had a good World Cup. A key member of Germany's defence. 8

Thomas Linke

Veteran Bayern Munich man has been very solid. He and Metzelder were singled out for praise by Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy after the 1-1 Group E draw. 8

Hamann has a vital role to play in midfield

Carsten Ramelow

Recovered well after being sent off against Cameroon. Solid defender who is comfortable on the ball and good going forward. 8

Torsten Frings

Yet another German defender who has done little wrong all tournament. Gets forward well down the right. 8

Dietmar Hamann

Tough tackler who brings stability in defence and astute passing when Germany attack. A key figure against South Korea. 8

Jens Jeremies

The Bayern Munich midfielder should fill in for the suspended Michael Ballack. Solid in the tackle but Germany may miss Ballack's creative influence and nose for goal. 7

Marco Bode

Scored a vital goal against Cameroon in the group stage and posed a constant threat during the semi-final win against South Korea. 8

Bernd Schneider

Dangerous attacking midfielder. Provides good crosses from the right and protects Frings when he pushes forward. 8

Miroslav Klose

A revelation for Germany with five headed goals in the group games. But has not scored since then and picked up a rib injury against South Korea. 7

Oliver Neuville

Impressive partnership with Klose. Has a knack for arriving in the box at the right time, as he did to score the golden goal winner against Paraguay. 8

Has been singled out as one of his side's most consistent players so far, which is pretty good going for a Brazilian goalkeeper. 8

Roberto Carlos

The Golden Ball nominee keeps opponents so busy going forward he rarely needs to defend. Let down by poor finishing against Turkey but is always a threat from free-kicks. 8

Lucio

Bad mistake to let in Michael Owen for England's goal in the quarter-final but turned in a solid display against Turkey. 7

Edmilson

Lyon centre-back scored a spectacular overhead kick against Costa Rica and was impressive against England and Turkey. 8

Roque Junior

Brazil's defence came in for criticism during the group stage but his improved displays have helped give the back three a more solid look. 7

Cafu is a constant threat down the right

Brazil's skipper has led by example. The side's best defender and a real handful for opponents with his raids down the right flank. 9

Gilberto Silva

A steady figure in the middle of the park, just as former skipper Dunga used to be. Controlled the midfield against Turkey and kept Yildiray Basturk under control. 8

Klebersen

Brought in for Juninho against England to add stability in midfield and deservedly kept his place against Turkey. 8

Ronaldinho

Destroyed England by setting up Rivaldo's equaliser and scoring a free-kick winner. Unlucky to be sent off and his return from suspension will be a major boost. 9

Rivaldo

Clinical finish to turn the quarter-final against England. Often shoots when he should pass but still a huge threat.9

Ronaldo

Produced a moment of brilliance to win the semi-final and take his tally to six goals in six games. Rudi Voeller's men must shackle him or else. 9
