Emile Heskey answered his critics with England's third
BBC Sport Online's Howard Nurse rates England's players during the 3-0 win over Denmark.
David Seaman Pushed over a strong drive from Gravesen at the end of the first half. Got away with spilling a Jensen shot in the wet conditions.
Danny Mills A sound display from the lively right-back, who is growing in stature. Booked for reacting to a challenge by Gronkjaer.
Rio Ferdinand Again the lynchpin at the heart of defence. His header from Beckham's corner led to England's opener. Has a big future.
Sol Campbell Steady support alongside Ferdinand and helped clear the danger after a mistake from Seaman. Sound as usual.
Ashley Cole The Arsenal defender again looked good going forward, but Rommedahl left him exposed a few times.
David Beckham Perfectly-flighted corner led to England's opening goal and set up the third for Heskey. Went close with a 30-yard shot. Looked fitter.
Nicky Butt His neat flick set up England's second goal and, as always, Butt was involved with everything through midfield. Impressive.
Paul Scholes A tidy performance from England's maestro, but rather quiet by his own high standards. Went off with a twisted ankle.
Trevor Sinclair Crossed from the left to help create Owen's goal. Showed good control and vision as he again justified his place in the team.
Michael Owen Great running off the ball and scored his first goal of the finals to put England 2-0 up. Sidelined by a slight groin strain at half time.
Emile Heskey Wasted a great chance to put England 2-0 up and prone to the offside trap, but scored a fine goal. Withdrawn on 68 minutes.
Substitutes:
Robbie Fowler (Replaced Owen, 46 mins) Given his first taste of the action and tried hard to make the most of the opportunity.
Kieron Dyer (Replaced Scholes, 49 mins) Assumed a central role in place of Scholes as the Newcastle man gained some much-needed action.
Teddy Sheringham (Replaced Heskey, 68 mins) Won his 50th cap as England looked to keep hold of the ball more often but found it hard to get into the game.
