China coach Bora Milutinovic said his players could take pride in their performance despite a 4-0 loss to Brazil.
Milutinovic saw his side put on a disappointing display in their opening game when they were beaten 2-0 by Costa Rica.
But he was impressed with how the Chinese players responded against Brazil even though they went down to goals by Roberto
Carlos, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo.
"I am very happy with the way they played," said Milutinovic.
"I am very happy with the way the personality of my players showed in the game."
"Our players learned a lot."
Milutinovic now wants more of the same when China take on Group C rivals Turkey.
They need at least a win to stand any hope of qualifying for the next round.
"We need to repeat the way how we played against Brazil," said Milutinovic.
"I think we have some chance against in the Turkish game."
