West Ham midfielder Joe Cole has a slight groin strain and is not even named among the England substitutes.

Argentina, who named their team a day early, have also made one change, Kily Gonzalez coming in for Claudio Lopez.

1030: Respective captains David Beckham and Juan Sebastian Veron hug each other when they meet on the touchline at the Sapporo Dome two hours before kick-off.

The Manchester United team-mates appear relaxed despite the magnitude of the upcoming game.
