When Pakistan play one-day cricket well they are magnificent to watch, but in South Africa they were a huge disappointment.
Whether they felt the pressure or the expectation of their fans at home I don't know, but something certainly went wrong, and it went wrong early.
With Australia at 86 for four in their opening match they were going so well, but it quite literally fell apart there and then.
They kept fiddling with their team and clearly weren't happy with things.
Neither was Inzamam-ul-Haq, a key player who was in dreadful touch with the bat.
Things weren't much better with the ball, and although watching Shoaib Akhtar tearing in and bowl at 100mph is a wonderful sight, being blitzed for eight an over doesn't help the cause.
There will be a few players we won't see again and it's a sad way for the likes of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis to end an era.
