Streak's preparation for the World Cup was seriously hampered when he dislocated a shoulder during the ICC Champions Trophy.
But the captain has been given the full backing of the selectors and is bound to carry the burden of the attack on his return.
Although arguably not the threat he once was, his form and fitness will be crucial to Zimbabwe's chances.
This is his second spell as captain, and during the first in 2001 he became the first Zimbabwean to top 40 one-day wickets in a calendar year.
The skipper is also an outstanding fielder and with the bat he is a pugnacious, hard-hitting lower-order batsman.
Reguarly coming in at number eight, Streak scores his runs at a rate of more than 70 every 100 balls.
