Drafted into the squad as a replacement for Jason Gillespie mid-way through the tournament, Bracken provides welcome variety with his left-arm seam bowling.

Tall and lean, he made his one-day international debut on home soil during the 2000-01 season and kept his place for the tour to India, where he took five wickets in three appearances.

Was forced to return home from the Ashes tour to England in 2001 after suffering a shoulder injury, which required surgery.

But Bracken bounced back with some consistent performances at state level and for Australia A.

Recalled to the senior squad in January during the VB Series, he produced his best one-day international figures so far of
3-21 against England in Melbourne.
