Dutch suffer setback
World Cup warm-up, Cape Town: Western Province 133-0 (25.3 overs) beat Netherlands 130 all out by 10 wickets

The Dutch team were hammered by 10 wickets in their opening World Cup warm-up match in Cape Town.

Western Province bowled the Group A outsiders out for 130 before breezing to their victory target in the 26th over.

Netherlands' meagre total would have been far worse if not for the efforts of number 11 Edgar Schiferli, who struck an unbeaten 35 off just 41 balls..

Bas Zuiderent made a watchful 29 before being run out, but elsewhere it was a worrying display.

Just one other batter reached double figures as Quinne Friend and Renier Munnik each took three wickets.

Despite economical displays from Schiferli (7-1-24-0) and Roland Lefebvre (5-0-18-0), the Dutch were unable to break through.

Lloyd Ferreira was unbeaten on 83 with fellow opener R Magiet 40 not out when the match was completed.

Western Province: LD Ferreira, R Magiet, JJ McLean, HD Ackerman, JP Duminy, R Munnik, +TL Tsolekile, RK Kleinveldt, Q Friend, R Telemachus, C Nyulu.

Netherlands: NA Statham, JF Kloppenburg, HJC Mol, B Zuiderent, TBM de Leede, LP van Troost, DLS van Bunge, RH Scholte, *RP Lefebvre, Adeel Raja, E Schiferli.
