Born: 28/07/78
Team: Central Districts
ODI debut: 04/01/01
Past World Cups: -

Right-arm medium-fast bowler
Left-handed batsman

With Chris Cairns often out through injury, the Black Caps will be hoping to nurture Oram's talent as an all-rounder for the future.

At the age of 24, he has played very little international cricket.

Oram made his one-day debut against Zimbabwe at the beginning of 2001. Although he did not get to bat, his bowling and good fielding helped New Zealand to an eight-wicket victory.

Batting in the middle-order, Oram has made a number of decent totals including a 59 against Sri Lanka in 2001.

At the end of 2002 he made his Test debut against India, starring with the bat and ball and hitting the winning runs in the second Test to secure a 2-0 series win.

He has added a yard of pace to his bowling and took his first one-day five-wicket haul in the one-day series versus India.
