Right-arm leg-break bowler
If there was a Who's Who of the finest spin bowlers of the last 20 years, then Anil Kumble would be right up among them.
Kumble is a master of disguising the flight of the ball and mixes up his deliveries constantly.
The Karnataka player is better on pitches in the sub-continent, although he is also a dab hand in other parts of the world as his statistics show.
He has amassed over 300 one-day international wickets, with his best figures - six for 12 - coming against the West Indies in 1993.
Kumble's economy rate is just over 4.00, with wickets falling every 41 balls.
The 32-year-old is also only the second bowler in Test cricket to have claimed all 10 wickets in one innings.
The figures 10 for 74 against Pakistan in 1999, have been only bettered by England's Jim Laker against Australia (10 for 53).
Considering he began his career almost a decade earlier proves consistency has been a key part of his success.
