Rashid Latif
Born: 14/10/68
Team: Allied Bank
ODI debut: 20/8/92
Past World Cups: 1996

Wicketkeeper
Right-handed batsman

A top class wicket-keeper as well as a neat batsman, the World Cup is likely to be Latif's swansong as he prepares to concentrate his energies on his cricket academy.

He made his international Test and one-day debut in England in 1992 and soon established himself behind the stumps.

But his career soon suffered some difficult twists and turns, such as his temporary hiatus after making match-fixing claims against team-mates following the 1994/95 tour to Zimbabwe.

In 1998, Latif skippered the team in three Tests against South Africa and Zimbabwe, but was then overlooked again until 2001.

In the past year he has overcome a career-ending injury scare and announced his retirement from Test cricket in order to concentrate on the World Cup.

He is closing in on 150 matches and catches and has a handy average around 20 as a lower-order batsman.
