Following the retirement of cricket legend Kapil Dev, the national team has been crying out for a classy all-rounder.

Many believe that Agarkar is the answer.

The Mumbai player became the fastest player ever to take 50 wickets in one-day internationals.

However, he has suffered from a number of injuries that have kept him out of the international scene.

Agarkar's comeback in the tour of Australia was nothing short of a disaster as far as his Test career was concerned, although the one-day upward curve continued.

Despite a fastest one-day half-century, off only 21 balls, his one day average is little over 16.

His bowling figures are slightly better, with a strike rate of just over 33.
