Dinesh Mongia
Born: 17/04/77
Team: Punjab
ODI debut: 28/03/01
Past World Cups: -

Left-hand batsman
Slow left-arm orthodox bowler

Great performances in the Ranji Trophy during the mid to late 1990s catapulted Mongia into the one-day national team.

He was brought into the squad to face Australia, but made just two runs when he came in to bat halfway down the order.

His other performance in the series was equally non-descript but he came back well when England and Zimbabwe visited India.

Mongia opened the innings against Zimbabwe and blasted home a century.

The 25-year-old has yet to appear in a Test match, despite the fact he was included in the squad for the West Indies.

His time will surely come if he performs consistently well in the domestic and one-day game.
