Craig Wishart
Born: 9/1/74
Team: Midlands
ODI debut: 26/8/96
Past World Cups: -

Right-handed batsman
Right-arm medium bowler

Wishart has failed to live up to the billing he was given as a youngster.

He made his debut before he had even scored a first-class 50, but only had to wait until his second one-day international before reaching that landmark.

However, that innings of 53 against India proved a false dawn.

He has since struggled to impose himself on a game at international level and has been in and out of the side down the years.

Having been out for the best part of a year after suffering from a shoulder injury, Wishart was recalled to the preliminary squad and made the final cut.

That show of faith in his ability may rekindle the promise of his youth, particularly if the selectors allow him to bat in his preferred position in the middle order.
