Daryl Tuffey
Daryl Tuffey
Born: 11/11/78
Team: Auckland
ODI debut: 27/09/00
Past World Cups: -

Right-handed batsman
Right-arm fast-medium bowler

Tuffey is fast becoming an important figure in the New Zealand side at both Test and one-day level.

He made his debut against Australia in the final Test three years ago.

Despite failing to take any wickets in a match the Black Caps lost, the selectors have kept faith with Tuffey and called him into the team on a regular basis.

He produces good bounce from the pitch and is a lively bowler, and has addressed the inconsistency which hampered his progress in the early years.

The 24-year-old's best moment came against England in 2002 when he took six for 54 in the third Test to help New Zealand to victory.

He is also a very useful one-day player, having taken almost 50 wickets in his career and his bowling average is rapidly decreasing.
