Tatenda Taibu
Tatenda Taibu
Born: 14/5/83
Team: Mashonaland
ODI debut: 23/6/01
Past World Cups: -

Right-handed batsman
Right-arm off-spin bowler

Taibu was selected for the national squad at the tender age of 16 to gain experience.

He did not play straight away, but is now a fully-fledged member of the team, and has recently relieved Andy Flower of his duties behind the stumps.

The prodigy has since honed his glovework and is now also making strides with the bat.

He made a maiden Test half-century in the recent series against Pakistan, and went on to make useful contributions in a losing cause in the one-day series.

He made his biggest score of 35 in that series and cemented his position as one of Zimbabwe's key men.

In addition to keeping and batting, Taibu is also a more than useful bowler as he showed at the under-19 World Cup in 2002, where he was named player of the tournament.
