Born: 20/9/72
Team: Windhoek Police
ODI debut: -
Past World Cups: -

Right-arm fast-medium bowler
Right-handed batsman

Van Vuuren is the only member of the side to have already competed in a World Cup - although last time around the ball was a completely different shape.

He was Namibia's fly-half at the 1999 Rugby World Cup, and will become the first man to represent his country at the premier competition in both sports.

In cricket the 30-year-old remains a dynamic force in the team's attack and key to getting the best out of the players around him.

On a trip to Namibia last year, Cricket World Cup director Dr Ali Bacher said of Van Vuuren: "He is like Jonty Rhodes, always shouting encouragement and egging his men on."

The right-hander has proved to be a versatile player, opening the bowling for Namibia while also operating as a hard-hitting batsman.
