One of Namibia's younger players at just 22, Walters is proving himself an accomplished opening batsman.
The right-hander worked well with Daniel Keulder in opening Namibia's batting order during the ICC Trophy in 2001, helping the side qualify for their first World Cup.
But it was not all joy as Walters took the blame for his side's last-ball loss to the Netherlands in the final after misfielding a glance to fine-leg which allowed the Dutch batsmen to scramble for the winning runs.
Walters' batting efforts in Canada, however, did not go unnoticed and he earned rave reviews as a consistent run-getter.
A mature, strong batsman, he has developed his talent by gaining experience overseas and spent last summer in action for Eastbourne on England's south coast.
