Andy Bichel
Andy Bichel
Born: 27/8/70
Teams: Queensland, Worcestershire
ODI debut: 5/1/97
Past World Cups: -

Right-arm fast-medium bowler
Right-handed batsman

Bichel has one of the most unenviable jobs in international cricket - breaking into the battery of Australian bowlers.

Messrs Warne, McGrath, Gillespie and Lee are a settled and fearsome quartet in both Test and one-day cricket.

The first reserve for the pace trio is Bichel and when called upon he never lets the side down.

A late arrival to the game, he is the ultimate example of consistency in line and length.

He also has variation and is able to bowl tight spells when called for.

Allied to his bowling, he is more than capable with the bat and can add vital runs at the end of an innings.
