Mohammad Ashraful
Mohammad Ashraful
Born: 7/7/84
Team: Dhaka Metropolis
ODI debut: 11/4/01
Past World Cups: -

Right-handed batsman
Right-arm leg-spin bowler

Ashraful is a future star of Bangladeshi cricket.

He made a sensational debut against Sri Lanka when he became the youngest Test centurion in the history of the sport.

However, in the one-day game he has yet to fulfil that early promise with either bat or ball and, after being dropped, only forced his way back into the squad in December.

He also failed to live up to his burgeoning reputation at the under-19 World Cup but will look to make amends in the senior event.

The 18-year-old started out as a bowler before showing prodigious talent with the bat.

He will be called upon to turn his arm over in South Africa and should prove an integral part of the team.
