Travis Friend
Travis Friend
Born: 7/1/81
Team: Midlands
ODI debut: 30/9/00
Past World Cups: -

Right-arm fast bowler
Right-handed batsman

Friend is a full-blooded player who goes by the nickname "Testosterone".

He is, however, yet to hold down a permanent place in the Zimbabwe line-up.

He has been hindered by intermittent injuries and despite bowling at a fierce pace, he can often lose his line and length.

And in the white hot intensity of a one-day match such waywardness can prove costly.

But Friend is definitely a player for the future and will use the World Cup to further his development within the team and on the international stage.

As well as his bowling, his batting also has promise and he may figure as a pinch-hitting opener, particularly against lesser teams.
