Peter Buckley won the menís road race in 1966 and Nigel Kelly triumphed in the menís skeet 20 years later.

David Moore won their only medal of the 1998 games Ė a silver in the 50m prone rifles.

The Isle of Manís Steve Watterson, making his debut in the 10m air rifle event, is the nephew of Stewart Watterson, who won a bronze medal in the 50m prone event at the 1978 Games in Edmonton, Canada.
