Manchester will be Singapore’s 11th Games since their first appearance in 1962.

In total they have collected nine medals - including four golds – with all but one of those coming in weightlifting.

Their team of 26 athletes returned home empty-handed last time around.

Brazilian Egmar Goncalves and Croatian Mirko Grabovac are the only two players to have scored more than 100 S-League goals in Singapore.

Both strikers have taken up Singapore citizenship and are able to play international football for the republic.
