The Maldives are still looking for their first medal as they enter their third Games.

They sent a team of 13 to Kuala Lumpur in 1998, with the majority of their athletes competing in track and field.

Did you know?
Football is by far the most popular sport in the Maldives but the islands are some way from a World Cup place.

They lost 10-1 to China in one qualifying game for the 2002 Finals, but that is still an improvement on their record defeat,17-0 to Iran, for the 1998 tournament.
