Bermuda took part in the inaugural Empire Games in 1930 and Manchester will be the 13th time they have competed.

They have picked up five medals, their solitary gold coming in the high jump when Nicky Saunders triumphed in 1990.

Their team of 25 picked up one medal in 1998 – silver in the tenpin bowling team competition.

Did you know?
Manchester City striker Shaun Goater will be representing his country this summer, but not at the World Cup as he might have hoped.

Goater will be acting as Bermuda’s attache during the Games.

He will act as guide to the team during their stay in Manchester, taking on the role of sporting ambassador for his country.
