Part of the Games since 1994, Namibia have taken five medals in total - three thanks to Frankie Fredericks.

He has one of each colour, grabbing 200m gold in Victoria in 1994 along with a 100m bronze. Silver in the 200m in 1998 completed the set.

They sent 70 athletes to Kuala Lumpur and won two other bronzes - in the women’s marathon and bowls.

Cricket is only a minority sport in Namibia, but their cricket team qualified for the 2003 World Cup thanks to a storming run to the final of the ICC Trophy.

Playing in Toronto, Canada, in the spring of 2002, they beat top seeds Scotland on their way to glory.
