Nicholas Ugoalah beat India's Anuj Kumar 4-1 just nine seconds into overtime to clinch gold for Canada on Saturday in the 84kg category at Manchester's G-Mex Centre.
Earlier in the evening Nigeria's Sinivie Boltic beat England's Jatinder Singh to the bronze medal.

Despite the 6-1 defeat, the Englishman attempted to remain upbeat. He said: "I am really disappointed not to have got a medal, but I have to look on the bright side too. "Six months ago I did not think I would make the team, two months ago I did not think I would win a match and two days ago I did not think I would have the chance of a medal even." India's Palwinder Singh Cheema beat Eric Ronald Kirschner of Canada in the 120kg category on technical superiority. Mushtaq Rasem Abdullah of Australia took the bronze with a 6-1 win over Scotland's Douglas Thomson. In the 55kg class, India's Krishan Kumar pipped Canada's Mikheil Japaridze 6-4 for the gold medal. Shaun Williams of South Africa took bronze. Ramesh Kumar added India's third gold after fighting off the pain from a knee injury to hold on for a 3-2 win over Canadian Graham Ewers in the 66kg category. Nigeria's Fred Jessey made up the medal podium.

Nate Ackerman on Daniel Igali
Earlier on Saturday, world and Olympic champion Daniel Igali made a strong start to the 74kg category with two wins in his elimination pool. The Canadian beat Nate Ackerman of England 9-4, and followed up with a 5-1 win over Pakistan's Muhammad Ali. In the 60kg category, Paul Stridgeon of England suffered two losses without scoring a point, while team-mate Johannes Roussouw went down 6-0 to Canada's Dean Schmeichel in the 96kg class. Scotland's Stevie McKeown began with a 74kg victory over Eric Walucho, but was then thrashed 11-0 by Australian Rein Ozoline in just one minute 21 seconds.
