Bhagwat leads Indian one-two

Anjali Bhagwat edged out team-mate Suma Shirur as India claimed a one-two in the final of the women's 10m air rifle at Bisley.

Bhagwat won with a score of 500.8 to take India's gold tally in the shooting in Manchester to nine.

Shirur was second with 500.0 and England's Louise Minett took bronze with 494.8.

It was Bhagwat's third gold of the Games after her victory in the 50m three positions and her win in partnership with Shirur in the 10m air rifle pairs.

Minett was happy to follow up her third place in the pairs with Victoria Eaton with bronze in the individual event.

"India was always going to be hard to beat but I had a stab. I felt pretty sure throughout that I was heading for bronze," she said.

Sharon Bowes of Canada was fourth ahead of Australia's Susan Mccready, Pushpamali Ramanayake of Sri Lanka, Roslina Bakar of Mauritius and Canada's Jacklyn Mecredy.
