Freeman has ruled out all individual competition this year so she can be with her husband, Sandy Bodecker, who is suffering from cancer.
Bodecker has a tumour in the back of his mouth and is undergoing a course of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Freeman will not appear in the individual 400m at the Manchester Games, but has continued training and still has the option of competing in the relay.
Freeman told the Daily Telegraph: "I am still likely to miss them but I have not completely ruled out the trip to Manchester.
"I still have a 4x400m relay spot I can take up if circumstances allow. You never really know what is round the corner.
"I may yet be racing at the Games but right now it is a case of taking things as they come.
"Sandy is ill and there are more important things in life than sport.
"The safety and happiness of my loved ones will always be my top priority."
