Games diary: Day 11
Generic party scene
Athletes get ready to experience the real Mad-chester
BBC Sport Online rounds-up the final Games news from Manchester.

All dressed up?

With the end of the Games fast approaching, everyone is waiting with baited breath for the big party.

No, not the closing ceremony at Manchester Stadium, but, instead, the after-party party.

It seems the athletes are preparing to let off a bit of steam after 10 days of intense competition, and will be going for it in Manchester city centre.

The Australians will most likely be heading down to a familiar antipodean nightspot on Deansgate, while the word is that Team England will be walking on the 'wild' side at a well-known bar/nightclub.

Visitors to Manchester can expect to see a few tipsy athletes on Sunday night.

Bring on the superhumans? More like subhumans after a few whisky chasers.

Austin's movie magic

Ben Austin set a world record for his disability swimming category in the heats of the men's 100m multi-disability freestyle at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday.

But the Australian always has a career in movies if swimming does not work out.

Austin, who swam the 100m free in one minute 00.27seconds to improve on the target time of 1:01.47, has a role in the movies Matrix 2 and Matrix 3.

"I was originally cast as a dead soldier, but as I was the only one-armed man they had, they gave me many of the gory scenes," he said.

"It was good fun."
