Michael Johnson - the best all-round sprinter in history
The BBC's team of experts at Manchester will be boosted with the addition of Olympic champion Michael Johnson.
When Johnson retired from the track last year it marked the end of a golden era of sprinting. Quite simply Johnson redefined the parameters of both the single lap and 200m events throughout the last decade. With six individual world titles (twice completing the 200m/400m double), three 4x400m relay world titles, three individual Olympic titles and one relay gold medal, there is not much room left in Johnson's trophy cabinet. The sprint titles at this year's Games are set to be amongst the most open events in Manchester and Johnson's expertise will be invaluable. |
