Anlezark wins in record style
Australia's Justin Anlezark set a new Commonwealth Games record to win gold with his very last effort in the men's shot put. Anlezark achieved a mark of 20.91 metres to beat favorite Janus Robberts of South Africa. Robberts had taken the lead in the penultimate round with his best put of 19.97m. England's Carl Myerscough took bronze with 19.91m. Myerscough was granted special dispensation to compete as he had served a drugs ban which under Games rules would normally have made him ineligible. |
