Golding-Clark grabs gold
Golding-Clark (left) beat team-mate Dixon to the line
Lacena Golding-Clark took gold in the women's 100m hurdles final in a one-two with Jamaican team-mate Vonette Dixon.
Golding-Clark won in a time of 12.77 seconds, with Dixon setting a personal best of 12.83secs and Nigeria's Angela Atede taking bronze. Jamaica might have had a clean sweep of the medals but national record holder Bridgette Foster withdrew from the final. England's Diane Allahgreen could not repeat her personal best performance in the semi-final as she finished fourth in 13.01secs. Canada's Angela Whyte was fifth ahead of Allahgreen's team-mate Julie Pratt and Jacquie Munro of Australia. |
