Beatrice Faumuina was a clear winner
Beatrice Faumuina won a second successive Commonwealth Games discus title with a throw of 60.83 metres. The New Zealander did not have to produce anything like her best as none of her rivals came close to threatening for the gold medal. India's Neelam Jaswant Singh took silver with 58.49m while Shelley Newman of England collected bronze with 58.13m. Wales' Philippa Roles was fourth with 57.65m. |
