Boswell leaps to glory
Boswell was a comfortable gold medallist
Canada's Mark Boswell stormed to a comfortable victory in the final of the men's high jump. Boswell was a class apart from his rivals as the only athlete to clear 2.28m. After taking victory, the 25-year-old had the bar raised to 2.36m in a bid to crack the Commonwealth Games record but failed to come close. Kwaku Boateng completed a Canadian one-two after clearing 2.25m. Despite being level with Ben Challenger of England, Boateng took the silver medal on countback. Challenger had to make do with bronze. English rival Dalton Grant struggled in the competition, failing to clear 2.25m and finishing sixth overall. |
