Chukwuemeka strikes gold
Chukwuemeka won with an attempt of 17.53 metres
Vivian Chukwuemeka won the women's shot put title at the Commonwealth Games with a mark of 17.53 metres.
The 26-year-old Nigerian beat world junior champion Valerie Adams of New Zealand, who had a best of 17.45m. South Africa's Veronica Abrahamse took bronze with 16.77m. Englishwoman Myrtle Augee failed to add to her five Commonwealth medals on her final appearance at the Games. |
