1955 Champions England international and Arsenal legend Ted Drake led Chelsea to their last Championship success in 1954/55. Drake, who had been in the job since 1952, created a bargain team mainly from the third division including Johnny McNichol and Les Stubbs. The team won the title with just 52 points but it was a great achievement for a 'shoestring' side. |
