Wild card Verplank finished 14th in the US standings
A surprise choice for a wild card in many people's eyes, Verplank will be hoping hes not just going to The Belfry to make up the numbers.

He has won a total of four PGA titles, the latest at the 2001 Canadian Open. His form in 2002 has been impressive too, having achieved a number of good finishes on the PGA Tour.

Verplank became the first amateur in 29 years to win a PGA Tour event when he defeated Jim Thorpe in a play-off at the 1985 Western Open.
