The Open champion will relish the battle at The Belfry
Duval finally ended his Major drought when he lifted the Claret Jug at Royal Lytham in July last year.

Before that, he was Tiger Woods' main challenger for the title of the world's best golfer.

The Florida star's form has dipped since, leading to a drop down the world rankings. He has missed a number of cuts in 2002, including the US Masters and US Open.

He has appeared in just one Ryder Cup so far, managing to win 11/2 points from his four matches in 1999.

But his only triumph was crucial, a 5&4 victory over in-form Jesper Parnevik in the singles to help the United States win back the Cup.
