Phillip Price
Price was once Pontypridd's 'man of the year'
It has taken over a decade for the Welshman to establish himself on the world scene.

He grabbed four second places in 2000, including at the NEC Invitational, and though 2001 had been less fruitful, he still managed to win the Algarve Open and come fourth in the Volvo PGA.

Consecutive third places in the British Masters and the English Open are the highlights of what has been a patchy 2002 season.

Price will need all his experience when it comes to tackling the intense pressure of match play against the Americans.
