Garcia is Europe's answer to Tiger Woods.

And although he has not yet won a Major, his rise to the higher echelons of world golf has been nothing short of meteoric.

He made his Ryder Cup bow at the tender age of 19 and teamed up with Jesper Parnevik in an entertaining partnership that won 31/2 of a possible four points.

Garcia was visibly crestfallen after coming second best to Jim Furyk in the singles.

In 2002, he has excelled on the American PGA Tour, having opened the season with victory in the Mercedes Championships. He also secured top 10 finishes in the US Masters, US Open and The Open.
