Bjorn enjoyed his Ryder Cup bow at Valderrama
Thomas Bjorn became the first Dane to ever play in the Ryder Cup, back in 1997.

He took his opportunity well, too. Along with partner Ian Woosnam, he defeated the pairing of Justin Leonard and Brad Faxon on the second day.

And with Europe on the verge of victory, he held his nerve in the singles to halve with Justin Leonard.

Bjorn was unlucky to miss out on competing at Brookline two years later, and will relish the return to Ryder Cup action.
